Dream Bathroom

It is pretty hard to believe that it has been almost a year and a half since I have done anything new to my bathroom.  At that time, I painted the vanity (which I posted about here), and after that I was feeling pretty good about things for awhile.  But now I am bored again and ready to add something new.  Since I have a little over two boxes of beveled subway tile left from my kitchen backsplash, I have been planning on using it to add a tile surround to my poor tub who right now looks very dull and sad.  I mean, it’s free so why the heck not?  Now I can’t make any promises about when that will actually happen but I am really hoping it is sometime in the next few months and at least before winter time.

Thinking about making improvements has of course prompted me to start daydreaming about all the things I would love to be able to do to my bathroom but will most likely not be able to do anytime soon due to  1. feeling fairly empty in my bank account and 2. not being sure that this will be my forever home and not wanting to over improve.  But a girl can still dream and in my dreams here are some items that would be necessary…

1. My shower right now is certainly not for large people and is barely sufficient for small people either.  I would love to be able to expand it and add a pretty paneled glass surround/doors.

2.  My bathroom is rather dark with only one small window.  I can remember growing up with a skylight in my parents’ bathroom and loving how much light it let in while still providing privacy.  I would love to add a skylight window or two to my current or future bathroom.  Having plenty of natural light makes such an impact on the feel of the room.  We found a company called VELUX® has some beautiful options for roof windows and skylights that would make any bathroom lovely and full of light.  They also have some pretty great options for blinds if you are looking for those as well.  Another thing about VELUX that we really like is that their products are very eco friendly and promote energy efficiency.

3. I would love to have a pretty piece of furniture (that will most likely be painted a perfect mint green) to store bathroom essentials.  I fear that on an everyday basis mine may not look quite as neat and tidy as the one in the picture but since this is a fantasy I can pretend.

4. Three words…Herringbone marble tile.  As far as the eye can see and on every surface possible.  Enough said.

This post was sponsored by VELUX but all thoughts and opinions are our own.

Megs! OMG you had me at the glass paneled shower, I DIE!!!! The herringbone tiles, I’ve always loved… we’re installing that same pattern in our kitchen as the back splash, but I think I now love it even more in the shower! :)))) I can’t wait to see what you do with your tile!
