Wedding Wednesday – Colors

So apparently an individual’s wedding colors are a big deal in the wedding planning world.  This is something I didn’t realize until I got engaged.  My vendors as well as anyone that I discuss the wedding with wants to know what my colors are.  The only problem is I’m still not really sure what they are.  I know I like blushy and nudey pinks (nothing bright) and lavendary and taupey purples (once again very muted) but I also don’t want things to feel too sweet.  I guess romantic is the feel I am going for if I had to pick a feeling.  I also like metallics ALOT.  Rose gold, gold, and silver.  My engagement ring actually has an accent of rose gold under the diamond and a watch that Chris got me for our first Christmas together has rose gold in it as well so it might be nice to incorporate that somehow.  But once again we wind up with a see of lavendary pinkys.  I obviously need to settle on a more masculine color to add to the mix.  I very randomly found this photo of a color palette created with Farrow and Ball paints and it definitely comes the closest to what I was thinking…

But I am not quite sure about whether I have blue in my head.  I think my head my be going in more of a gray direction.   I checked out some websites like The Perfect Palette, which lets you search weddings by color and helps you find other colors to go with your scheme.  Creature Comforts blog also had a column in which she shared some interesting color palettes.  If you are searching for wedding colors and then invitations to fit your palette, Wedding Paper Divas has a tool that lets you search by season and main color and gives you other ideas for coordinating colors.  Muted and metallic options seemed to fit what I liked best on that.

Do you guys have any genius ideas about a color to harden things up a bit?  Something that I may be missing?

Love the color palet. Ask Chris what his color he likes to go with the blushes and things- maybe pull in his favorite color. I think just about any color would go with blush. Look up french country pics and see the colors they put with the blush roses they always use.

I love these colors! Different and still very pretty/romantic.

I love your thoughts about the colors and I think you are in the right directions.

And about your trip, I would suggest that you see the old cemetery. We saw it before the dam broke so I don’t know what it is like now. We found it very interesting.
